Grant Writing 101: Finding Funding for Your Creative Work

GLAI Wednesday Workshops | Detroit Artist Fellowship Program

Join Frannie Shepherd-Bates for a two-hour introduction to finding grants and writing compelling proposals. Designed for individual artists and nonprofit organizations, this workshop will cover identifying funding opportunities, connecting with program officers, crafting a letter of inquiry (LOI), and developing a strong grant application.

Whether you're seeking support for your creative practice or building an organization, you'll gain practical tools to approach grant writing with greater clarity and confidence. No prior grant-writing experience or nonprofit affiliation is needed.

Facilitator: Frannie Shepherd-Bates is a nonprofit development professional, theatre practitioner, and educator. She serves as Director of Development for Linkage Community and brings experience writing organizational and individual grants, serving on grant review panels, and working with Detroit Public Theatre.
